Jon Purdy

Jon Purdy has a degree and PhD in Applied Physics form the University of Hull. He has recently returned to Hull as a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science where he has developed the curriculum for an MSc in Games Programming. Prior to working at Hull University Jon taught game programming and technology at Bolton Institute where he designed a BSc in computer games development. Jon is a keen game player and collector of retro games equipment, and has an original Space Invaders cabinet in his office. He is also very involved in promoting games within education, visiting high schools and giving presentations at every opportunity. Jon is an active researcher publishing papers is medical signal processing and visualization and researching the psychological and physiological effect of playing computer games.
