Pilot Project

March 29th - April 1st 2004

For the first Technocamp, held on campus at University of Wales Swansea, local schools from the Swansea Bay area each selected four pupils from Year 10 (14/15 years) who are currently studying IT at GCSE level.

Accompanied by a member of staff from the school, and supported by a team of Computer Science students from the University of Wales Swansea, the pupils were introduced to a range of IT subjects not included in the current school curriculum. The programme included sessions in Digital Imagery, Graphics and Games Technology, Internet Systems and Simulation. Pupils attended a mix of seminars and workshops with plenty of opportunity for hands on experience in the lab.

All the content was carefully sourced with inspiration and technical innovation in mind.
