Roedd Technocamps yn falch iawn o gael arwain rhaglen newydd, arloesol sydd wedi\u2019i chynllunio i annog menywod ifanc i ystyried gyrfaoedd STEM. Yr wythnos ddiwethaf, lansiwyd GiST Cymru ym Mhrifysgol De Cymru, gyda dros 130 o ferched o ysgolion ledled y De-ddwyrain a\u2019r Cymoedd yn bresennol, a hynny er mwyn meithrin dirnadaeth a dealltwriaeth o\u2019r cyfleoedd sy\u2019n agored iddynt ym maes Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg. Cydnabyddir yn eang fod merched yn cael eu tangynrychioli mewn Diwydiannau STEM, ac un o nodau Rhaglen Technocamps, a ariennir gan Ewrop, yw ceisio unioni\u2019r fantol. Arweiniwyd GiST Cymru gan y t\u00eem ym Mhrifysgol De Cymru, gyda chymorth gan ein partneriaid academaidd eraill: Prifysgol Abertawe, Prifysgol Bangor, a Phrifysgol Caerdydd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cafodd y merched eu hysbrydoli gan amrywiaeth o brofiadau gwahanol a\u2019u galluogodd i gysylltu \u00e2 menywod sy\u2019n gweithio yn STEM (trwy gyfrwng trafodaethau a mentora), a rhoddwyd cyfle iddynt wneud \u2018gwaith ymarferol\u2019 mewn gweithdai a sesiynau sgiliau. Lansiwyd gweithgareddau\u2019r dydd gyda phrif areithiau gan Emma Tamplin o Chwarae Teg, a Wendy Sadler MBE o Science Made Simple, a siaradodd yn helaeth am ei phrofiadau ei hun ym maes Ffiseg a Cherddoriaeth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bu Technocamps yn cydweithredu \u00e2 nifer o bartneriaid allanol er mwyn sicrhau bod cynllun GiST Cymru yn amrywiol o ran cynnwys ac yn cynnig cyfle i\u2019r cyfranogwyr brofi ac archwilio pynciau STEM mewn ffordd hwyliog a diddorol. Roedd y gweithdai yn cynnwys rhaglenni ceir awtonomaidd, adeiladu rhannau awyrennau, gwifrio plygiau, diffiwsio bomiau gan ddefnyddio setiau pen rhith-wirionedd, mesur cerddediad dinosoriaid, seibrddiogelwch ac ymchwil i gelloedd canser. Roedd pob un o\u2019r sesiynau dan arweiniad menywod sydd wedi\u2019u sefydlu eu hunain mewn gyrfaoedd a ddominyddir fel arfer gan ddynion. Bydd gweithgareddau dilynol yn cael eu cynnal trwy gydol y flwyddyn academaidd nesaf, a byddwn yn gweithio gydag ysgolion i fonitro cynnydd ein holl arloeswyr GiST er mwyn gweld pa effaith y mae\u2019r rhaglen wedi\u2019i chael. Byddwn hefyd yn lansio digwyddiadau eraill sy\u2019n adeiladu ar y brand GiST Cymru newydd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roedd yr adborth gan y disgyblion i gyd yn gadarnhaol dros ben, ac roedd pob un ohonynt wedi cael blas ar y cyfle i gymryd rhan mewn ychydig o Wyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg ymarferol:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNod GiST Cymru yw rhoi\u2019r hwb ychwanegol hwnnw i ferched ledled Cymru y mae ei angen arnynt i gael mynediad at weithgareddau STEM. Mae GiST wedi rhoi cyfle i\u2019r disgyblion hyn wneud gweithgareddau STEM ymarferol heb y pwysau a\u2019r stigma sy\u2019n dweud: \u2018mae\u2019r pynciau hyn ar gyfer bechgyn\u2019. Heb unrhyw fechgyn yn y golwg, roedd pob un o\u2019r merched a oedd yn bresennol yn y digwyddiad wedi mwynhau\u2019r cyfle i gymryd rhan mewn gweithgareddau y byddent, efallai, wedi\u2019u hosgoi yn y gorffennol. Rwyf mor falch o\u2019r ffaith bod pob un o\u2019r wyth gweithdy dan arweiniad modelau r\u00f4l STEM benywaidd, cryf o bob rhan o\u2019r sector, menywod y mae eu gwaith, eu bywyd a'u hegni yn ymroddedig i STEM.\u201d<\/em><\/p>Laura Roberts<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Roedd Jo Farag, y Pennaeth TG yn Ysgol Uwchradd Caerdydd, wedi disgrifio\u2019r diwrnod yn un \u2018anhygoel\u2019, a dywedodd fod ei disgyblion wedi gadael y digwyddiad wedi\u2019u \u2018hysbrydoli\u2019n wirioneddol\u2019 i symud ymlaen \u00e2 gweithgareddau STEM yn yr ysgol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
