Mynychodd Derek Ysgol David Hughes, lle cynhaliodd Technocamps sawl gweithdy ar gyfer diwrnodau sgiliau. Cymerodd Derek ran mewn nifer o weithdai Technocamps, ac roedd un ohonynt yn cynnwys defnyddio cod i gynhyrchu blociau a newid amgylchedd Minecraft, a ysbrydolodd ddiddordeb Derek mewn Cyfrifiadureg.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roedd Derek hefyd yn rhan o gystadleuaeth Technocamps a gynhaliwyd yn Venue Cymru, lle creodd ei d\u00eem robot ysgubol mwyngloddio gyda Lego Mindstorms. Ar \u00f4l hynny, bu\u2019n rhaid i\u2019r t\u00eem ei dynnu i lawr, ailadeiladu ac ailraglennu\u2019r robot i ddawnsio i fideo cerddoriaeth Gangnam Style!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ar \u00f4l y gweithdai, roedd Derek yn gyffrous iawn i ystyried y math o bethau y gallai eu creu pe bai'n gwybod sut i raglennu. Ar \u00f4l siarad \u00e2'i athro TGCh, cafodd ei annog i ddysgu mwy am Scratch a chystadlu yng nghystadlaethau Technocamps. Ar \u00f4l gwneud un gystadleuaeth, roedd yn teimlo llawer mwy gwybodus am yr hyn yr oedd rhaglenni'n ei olygu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yna penderfynodd astudio\u2019r pwnc ar lefel gradd ym Mhrifysgol Manceinion, lle dysgodd sut i raglennu yn Java, Python ac ychydig o Iaith Assembly. Yna trosglwyddodd i gwrs Peirianneg Fecanyddol, lle dysgodd sut i raglennu yn MATLAB a G-Code ar gyfer peiriannau CNC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ar \u00f4l gwneud cymaint \u00e2 rhaglennu, nod Derek yw dilyn gyrfa sydd o leiaf yn rhannol gysylltiedig \u00e2 hi. Ar hyn o bryd, mae wedi bod yn edrych ar roboteg, a fydd yn cynnwys llawer o raglennu, ac mae meddwl cyfrifiadol wedi bod yn sgil sydd wedi ei helpu trwy lawer o broblemau mathemategol a pheirianneg cymhleth, felly bydd yn rhywbeth y mae'n ei ddefnyddio bron yn ddyddiol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
