We are hosting a series of careers webinars for 11-18 year olds to help them understand what roles are available to them, how they would go about getting into that industry, how careers advisors can support them and what their next steps should be.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout June, we will host a series of webinars with industry experts to give advice to secondary school children about their futures. Pupils can register with their class for an after-school event or register individually and watch at home. If you can’t make the time slot, register anyway and we’ll send you the recording afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engineering: What is it? Why do it? How can it save the planet?<\/strong>

Carly Nettleford is a competent, passionate, driven engineer with over eight years of experience. With a background in manufacturing, field and policy engineering and a strong skill set, she has gained the ability to adapt to any engineering environment. She has demonstrated an ability to manage projects, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines while adhering to regulations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Lydia\u2019s engineering journey started with the EDT\u2019s Headstart programme, followed by a Year in Industry Placement at Delphi Technologies, a Commercial Vehicle Fuel Systems Design and Manufacturing Company. On completion of her MEng in Mechanical Engineering at Brunel University, Lydia returned to Delphi Technologies, working her way up to Senior Engineer within the Product Development Team.
As Education Policy Advisor, Lydia works to develop policy positions and education strategy for the Institution. Lydia is also the Institution\u2019s Professional Development Advisor, bringing engineering counsel for membership and accreditation decision making. She is passionate about making Engineering accessible to all and ensuring engineering education maintains its relevance to provide the skills required for the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
