{"id":7104,"date":"2021-05-12T11:53:10","date_gmt":"2021-05-12T10:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.technocamps.com\/?p=7104"},"modified":"2021-05-19T16:41:26","modified_gmt":"2021-05-19T15:41:26","slug":"pupils-support-new-train-station-design-using-minecraft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.technocamps.com\/en\/2021\/05\/12\/pupils-support-new-train-station-design-using-minecraft\/","title":{"rendered":"Pupils support new train station design using Minecraft"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Pupils from Milford Haven have redesigned the new train station in a Minecraft world, in the hopes of inspiring the council&#8217;s new real-life design.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have been working with <a href=\"https:\/\/milfordhavenschool.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Milford Haven Comprehensive School<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pembrokeshire Council<\/a> to challenge pupils to design and build the town&#8217;s new train station in Minecraft. Pupils were asked to think about the future of their local area, taking sustainability, accessibility and usability of the station into consideration. The winning designs be will used to inform proposals for the station which are being progressed by Pembrokeshire Council and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atkinsglobal.com\/homepage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Atkins<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The real-life train station is currently only a small shelter, but the local council are set to start building a new station later this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some examples of the pupils&#8217; models:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"x-resp-embed x-is-video x-is-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Using Minecraft to redesign Milford Haven train station\" width=\"1124\" height=\"632\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QUVXjjr4it4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This follows the success of our recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technocamps.com\/en\/2021\/01\/21\/craft-your-city-opportunity-for-young-people-to-help-shape-cardiff-using-minecraft\/\">Craft My City<\/a> competition in collaboration with Cardiff Council, where pupils were asked to share their visions for the space outside Cardiff Museum using Minecraft.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pupils from Milford Haven have redesigned the new train station in a Minecraft world, in the hopes of inspiring the council&#8217;s new real-life design.
