We recently welcomed over 100 attendees to our 2021 Education Conference, both in-person at the Swansea.com Stadium, and via live stream.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the event was to bring Wales\u2019s digital educators together to share best practice, inform on the newest curriculum changes and promote the available support to them. It is essential that both primary and secondary school teachers are aware of the qualifications that they are setting the groundwork towards, so all talks (including Minecraft) were relevant to both primary and secondary school educators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We heard from Tom Macildowie from Adobe<\/a> with a talk about how the software can be used in the classroom to develop games, websites and animations – all essential parts of the new curriculum. Then, our Assistant Director, Stewart Powell discussed games development and how it teaches pupils so many seemingly unrelated skills, such as creativity and problem solving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following that, Sarah Snowdon from Minecraft: Education Edition<\/a> explained how important Minecraft is in both primary and secondary schools to pupils’ development in a fun environment. Then, Technocamps Delivery Officer Jack hosted a Minecraft workshop to ensure all attendees left feeling confident and able to use Minecraft: Education Edition in their teaching and support children in doing the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the sessions, Adam Speight held another Technoteach Teachmeet networking event for teachers at the event. We host these sessions regularly throughout the year to provide a forum for the country’s digital educators to meet each other and share ideas.
