As part of <\/strong>Technocamps<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 STEM Academy this Summer, we hosted a whole load of fun activities across Wales to inspire, motivate and engage young people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths subjects.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who has ever taken part in our workshops knows that we have a knack of turning complicated science and technology into fun and interesting activities in the classroom! So this July, we delivered workshops to almost 1,000 children at our Swansea HQ and in schools across the county. With the theme of Healthy You, Healthy Planet<\/strong>, pupils were getting stuck in to programming Microbits to turn off lights when rooms are empty, robots to sort rubbish into recycling and a Minecraft world that helps with battling sea levels. They also learnt about wearable technology, competed in a step count challenge and navigated their way around a treasure hunt. Pupils simultaneously learnt about the science, technology, engineering and maths behind the activities, and the importance of being aware of human impact on the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pupil feedback included:

\u201cThe workshop was very fun and I learnt a lot.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technocamps Operations Manager, Luke Clement, said \u201dAfter a long couple of years of delivering our activities virtually, it was fantastic to have staff and pupils back on site enjoying getting stuck in with all the workshops. Now we are looking forward to delivering again in schools in the new term more than ever!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
