International Women’s Day is a worldwide celebration of women’s economic, political, and social achievements, past, present, and future. Each year, thousands of events take place across the globe to honour these accomplishments and inspire the next generation of women.

This year marked the 27th annual Technocamps International Women’s Day celebration, welcoming nearly 200 guests from organisations and businesses across Wales at Swansea.com Stadium on Friday the 6th of March. The evening opened with a welcome from Technocamps, and from Sioned Williams, Member of the Senedd for South Wales West, and highlighted the impactful work taking place across Wales to inspire and support the next generation of women. The event featured a lineup of remarkable speakers from the STEM and education sectors. Anna Webb, Head of Global Security for Kocho, shared her non-linear journey and her ethos of believing in yourself to achieve any goal; Professor Joanne Davies, Founding Director of SUSIM (Swansea University Simulation and Immersive Learning Centre), shared her journey into using technology for clinical practice across the globe; and Lauren Powell, Client Lead at Bridewell, shared her belief in why we should all follow our interests and take a step out of our comfort zone to achieve success. Technocamps would like to thank all the incredible attendees and speakers for the success of this event and to the evening’s compère, Elin Rhys.
