Enjoying Robotics with the Minister for Economy

On Friday, we got Welsh Government Minister for Education, Vaughan Gething MS, involved in our STEM workshop.

We recently visited St Cuthbert’s Primary School in Cardiff for a STEM workshop with the pupils there. The Minister came along to see what we are doing to inspire and engage young people in the area in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths in and out of school.

Mr Gething joined in our Robotics workshop, where pupils were taught to programme and control robots in the classroom, and chatted to our Director, Professor Faron Moller. He was particularly interested in our GiST programme to encourage girls to consider STEM subjects at school.

Technocamps Assistant Director, Stewart Powell, said, “This was such a fantastic opportunity to show the Welsh Government the positive impact our work is having on children across Wales. After welcoming Jeremy Miles AS to the Technocamps HQ earlier in the week too, it is clear that the Technocamps project is both impactful and valuable.”
