Technocamps will now be working with Menter Iaith Abertawe to promote Welsh language STEM activities in Swansea.
We are excited to announce that we will be working with local project Menter Iaith Abertawe to offer workshops and events to Welsh speaking pupils in Swansea. This will give us the ability to increase the opportunities available to pupils and teachers to learn about Computer Science and other STEM subjects in the language they are most comfortable using, and the language that they are likely to complete assessments using. It will also help us reach a wider audience in South West Wales to encourage the use of the Welsh language both in and outside of schools.
Menter Iaith Abertawe was established in 2001 with the aim of promoting and expanding the use of the Welsh language in the City and County of Swansea. We worked closely with the team during our 2021 STEM Academy to promote inclusive STEM workshops for pupils in Swansea and following the success of this partnership, we are looking forward to the partnership ahead.
