GiST: International Women’s Day Special

adminEvent, News, News and Events

To celebrate International Women’s Day in March, we’re hosting two very special GiST (Girls into Science and Tech) events for learners in North and South Wales.

It is widely recognised that girls are underrepresented in STEM industries, and we aim to redress the balance. We offer clubs and seminars, exclusively to girls through our GiST (Girls into STEM) Cymru programme. In this way, we hope to reach girls who have not previously considered STEM as an option, and encourage them towards careers in STEM.

We’re inviting learners from Year 9 to join us at Swansea Arena and in Venue Cymru for a day of STEM, including inspirational talks from Women in STEM and a tech tour and team challenges. The aim is to encourage young people to learn about the impact Women in STEM have had and what opportunities are available to them in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths sectors.
